Tapes Rolling was conceived and designed to cater to the working musician who wants a professional live recording without all the hassles or expensive price that most charge. I am a musician and songwriter with a engineering degree that has been in Tulsa for over 30 yrs. who knows what it is like trying to record off the board, as you know levels and eq's for a sound system is a lot different than tracking to individual tracks, after all your mixing for the room and once its recorded with eq & effects you can not remove it, and the recording levels never match the sound system levels. When you record multitrack you can control the headroom, and the equalization of each track to get the cleanest and hottest signal that you need to get the mix you want.
A no nonsense approach that focuses on the creative flow that happens ( magic if you will ) when you play music in your comfort zone whether its live on stage or in your living room.
That's why when we record we split the signal from the mics and direct boxes, so you are able to use your sound system like you normally do when you play live, and we have our mix to our console and you have yours. That way we can capture the magic as you make it without intrusion.
After recording we bring it back to the studio and transfer to our editing software for mixing and mastering, producing a *redbook quality cd of your music that won't break the bank and that you can be proud of. Demo cd's are also available.
